Coming from a longline of seamstresses; both her grandmothers sewed as well as her mother, the tradition has been passed on to Val who started as a very young child making clothes for herself and family and progressed to bridesmaid dresses for family and friends as well as blinds and curtains

She prefers to work with a pattern but enjoys the occasional challenge without and has been known to design and make rucksacks, bags and wallets working with faux leather

In addition to this, Val also works part time as a trampoline coach
 
The sad closure of the fabric shop in Worthing has now encouraged Val to concentrate further on stitching and fixing
